2-Deoxyglucose Reverses the Promoting Effect of Insulin on Colorectal Cancer Cells In Vitro

Fig 2

Cellular proliferation assay.

Percentages of viable cells at different time points (24,48,72h) were shown. The data are presented as the mean ± SD of the results obtained from three independent experiments. (A) Cellular proliferation in response to ingredient concentrations of insulin. (B and C) HCT116 and LoVo colorectal cancer cells were treated with 2DG at indicated concentrations with or without the presence of insulin (20μU/ml). (D) Cells were treated for 72h with 5mM 2DG and/or 20μU/ml insulin. Cell growth curves were constructed. *, significant differences versus the controls (P < 0.05). #, significant differences versus control at the same time (P < 0.05).
