Optical Histology: A Method to Visualize Microvasculature in Thick Tissue Sections of Mouse Brain

Time-lapse image demonstrating optical clearing effect on skin.
The sample was immersed in 14M glycerol and placed on top of a ruler at specific time points and imaged with a digital camera. As the tissue becomes more transparent, the underlying ruler becomes easier to see. The effect is reversible with saline incubation.
