Blockade of Gαq, but not Gαs, with a neutralizing antibody abolishes PKC activation in response to inflammatory stimuli in H9c2 cardiomyocytes.

H9c2 cells were permeablized with antibodies against either Gαs or Gαq and then stimulated with LPS (A), or TNF-α (B), or IL-6 (C) for 18 h. Cells were harvested, and levels of PKC activity in the cell lysates were assessed using a nonradioactive colorimetric PKC activity assay kit. Results are expressed as % relative to the unstimulated control cells. Data represent mean ± SE of at least 3 experiments. *, P<0.05.
