Abstract
A study of the high-order harmonic generation of picosecond laser radiation from the lead plasma produced during laser ablation is reported. We demonstrate the resonance-induced enhancement of the 11th harmonic (96.7 nm) of Nd:YAG laser radiation from the Pb-containing plasmas and compare the harmonic spectra from the plasmas produced on the surfaces of Sn and Sn:Pb alloy. The insertion of gases inside the vacuum chamber containing plasma plumes led to a considerable redistribution of harmonic intensities from the Pb plasma, which pointed out the involvement of the propagation effect on the phase relations between the interacting waves.
