Abstract: The steel roof of hangar of China Eastern Airline is adopted with the orthogonal diagonal welded spherical grid structure. In construction of these structures, a computer controlled multi-suspension-centers hydraumatic synchronizing lifting construction technology is adopted. The mechanical behavior of the structure in lifting process differs from the design status. For this reason,it is necessary to analysis the internal force and deformation of the structure during the lifting process. The finite element model of the structure in the lifting status is rebuilt and the effect of lifting height is considered. The analytical results show that the change of lifting height has no effect on lifting forces and the maximum deformations and stresses are reduced with the increase of lifting height. The lifting scheme is reasonable and the structure in lifting process is security. It is believed that the process of lifting is safe in the fine weather if the states of tentative lifting meet the requirements. The paper also gives emphasis and difficulty in lifting construction. These results provide a reasonable basis for the construction of large-span spatial structures.
