Abstract: Correctly predicting multi-exit selection of people is very important for architects and fire engineers. In this paper, from the viewpoint of architecture, the influences of six geometric features of an exit on people’s escape selection were quantitatively studied.Using the virtual evacuation technology combined with the binary logistic regression method, the problems of inefficient combination samples of various geometric features and impossibility of Abstracted existence of these features in real environment were solved.Based on 9 163 virtual evacuation selection data,multi-exit selection model was established. The simulation results indicated that in addition to the main factor of distance, width was another important geometric feature factor and could not be neglected.Furthermore,a mathematic analysis tool was provided for architects and fire engineers,in which the solo-distance hypothesis could be displaced by a more capable distance-width model.
