Abstract: Objective:To compare the value of the multi-slice spiral CT angiography (MSCTA) with that of transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) in the diagnosis of anomalous pulmonary venous connection. Methods:From September 2007 to May 2009,22 cases of suspected congenital anomalous pulmonary venous connection of children underwent MSCTA and TTE examination in comparison with surgical results. Results:The surgically confirmed 22 cases included total anomalous pulmonary venous connection in 13 cases:supra-cardiac (6 cases),intra-cardiac (5 cases) and infra-cardiac (2 cases). There was partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection in 9 cases, included supra-cardiac (8 cases) and intra-cardiac (1 case). The diagnostic accuracy of MSCTA and TTE was 96% and 73%.Conclusion:Multi-slice spiral CT angiography is an important means in the diagnosis of congenital anomalous pulmonary venous connection.
