Zhao Jianming
Abstract: After being admitted to the United Nations,Actively Participating in U.N. Peace-keeping Operations (PKOs) has become one of South Korea’s important diplomatic activities. Although South Korea has always declared that his participation is designed for paying debts back to the international community,South Korea’s PKOs are interwined with its economic, diplomatic and security policies. Practically it is these dynamics that have spurred South Korea into participating in these operations. As a result of South Korea’s consistent exploration of new overseas military patterns,UN PKOs will decline. However,South Korea will not abandon UN PKOs,but will participate selectively. UN PKOs will remain to be low cost measures, which South Korea adopts to expand its international space.
