Abstract: This paper proposes the concept of "locational embeddedness" by explaining the impacts of network location on the decision-making and resources acquisition of the network members, thus developing the composition of social embededdness from the "relationship-structure" theory to the "relationship-location-structure" theory. It then analyzes how the host county network structures of overseas subsidiaries influence the network learning.Sampling the 123 Chinese subsidiaries of the foreign companies, the empirical studies with SEM and social network analysis show that:(1) the strength of relation embeddedness has notable positive effect on network learning performance (2) the network centrality has notable positive effect on network learning performance (3) the group centrality has notable negative effect on network learning performance (4) the network density has notable positive effcet on network learning performance.
