Analysis on Influencing Factors of Regional Distribution of China’s ODI Based on New Economic Geography TheoryChinese Full Text
ZHANG Hui;HUANG Jian-zhong;
Abstract: Based on Martin & Roger’s Footloose Capital Model, this paper makes a further derivation and parameter analysis, and comes up with five hypotheses about regional distribution of China’s outward foreign direct investment(ODI), based on which a static panel data model of China’s ODI is established to test regional distribution factors. It is found that the regional distribution of China’s ODI shows significant market-seeking, technology-seeking, resource-seeking and export-driven features. Therefore, China should maintain and enhance resource-seeking ODI, accelerate technology-seeking ODI and promote actively efficiency-seeking ODI to accelerate the pace of China’s ODI development.
