Abstract: Objective To assess the feasibility of MTT colorimetric assay for testing the in vitro chemosensitivity of non small cell lung cancer cells to paclitaxel( PTX). Methods A549 cells were exposed to paclitaxel at different concentrations or different treatment times, and then the growth-inhibiting effects were determined by MTT assay. Results Paclitaxel inhibited the growth of A549 cells significantly in time-and dose-dependent manners. Conclusion MTT assay may help select appropriate chemotherapeutic agents and provides evidence for individualized chemotherapy for non small cell lung cancer.
