Abstract: Taking the Shanghai World Expo as an example,this article inspects the city event under the perspective of spectacle and finds that it becomes spectacular.Since people’s perception approach of the city changed from tactus-based to vision-based,the spectacular city event plays an important role in the construction of the city image.This article analyzes the important role of the city event and its violence in a critical perspective.
