The Identification of Cultural Identity and Discursive Symbols in Multiethnic Regions:An Ethnographical Study in Jishishan,Gansu ProvinceChinese Full Text

Abstract: The Matrix of human identity is cultural identity which is defined by Stuart Hall as "shared culture",meaning cultural identity reflects particular shared historical experience and cultural symbols.Based on the approach of ethnographical study in Jishishan,Gansu Province,the article examines the cultural identifications of different ethnicities,satisfactions with the current society,and cultural discriminations and biases.Moreover,it employs the perspective of public memory to explore the production and dissemination strategies of discursive symbols for the construction of regional cultural community.
