Abstract: Caragana korshinskii seeds are exposed in different conditions of electric fields for different times.The results indicate that there are different effects under different treatment conditions on the germination potential and germination rate of the seeds.The electric field can promote seed germination,also restrain seed germination.The result also shows that the long-time treatment is not proper to promote seed germination at the same range of frequency and electric field strength.When the seeds are treated by appropriate electric field,compared with the control group,the MDA content of germinating seeds becomes smaller under drought stress,the SOD and POD activity increases.The electric treatment could be used to enhance the germination and seedling growth of Caragana korshinskii seeds to tolerate drought stress.
