Abstract: Based on the lithological and hydrological characteristics at a typical petroleum contaminated site, and data collection and analysis of long-term observation and water pumping and dispersion experiments,a numerical model of groundwater flow and solute transport was developed and verified by a flow model.BTEX was used as the simulation factor, the convection-diffusion solute transport process in groundwater was simulated using MT3DMS module of GMS software, and the organic pollutant biodegradation process with the coexistence of a variety of mobile or immobile microorganisms in groundwater was simulated using RT3Dmodule of GMS software. The results showed that chemical reactions of biodegradation can decrease the peak values of contamination, and a large amount of aerobic microbes and denitrification exist in the study area, which suggested that in-situ bioremediation can be used to control petroleum pollution.
