Abstract: Using the probability density function with parameters to characterize the cotton fiber length distribution is not only conducive to the calculation of some fiber length indicators, but also beneficial to fully discribe the fiber length distribution. Based on the fiber length frequency histograms measured by USTER AFIS PRO.,two-component and three-component mixed Weibull distributions are adopted to fit these histograms, and the relevant length indicators are calculated. The results show that the mixed distribution model developed using mixed Weibull distribution can well fit the weight-and-number weighted length distribution of cotton fibers.
