Abstract: Objective To investigate the relative specificity of point Neiguan(PC6) in treatment for premature beat and prove the clinical therapeutic effect of point Neiguan on premature beat by comparing the efficacies of acupuncture at single point Neiguan versus Xuanzhong(GB39) in treating premature beat. Method Sixty patients were enrolled according to the inclusion criteria. Ten patients dropped out and 50 patients finished treatment. A Neiguan group comprised 30 patients and a Xuanzhong group, 20 patients. A single-blind randomized controlled trial was carried out. Dynamic electrocardiography was performed. Statistical analysis was made. The efficacies of Neiguan versus Xuanzhong treatments for premature beat were compared. Result Acupuncture at point Neiguan was more effective than acupuncture at point Xuanzhong in treating premature beat. Conclusion Relative to point Xuanzhong, point Neiguan has specificity in treatment for premature beat. The research results can provide a scientific basis for the standardization of indications for acupuncture points and clinical point selection.
