Imaging Analysis of Rhabdomyosarcoma in the Extremities Soft TissueChinese Full Text

Abstract: Objective To explore imaging features of rhabdomyosarcoma in the extremities soft tissue and improve its diagnostic capacity.Materials and Methods A retrospective analysis of imaging features of six cases with pathologically approved rhabdomyosarcoma in the extremities soft tissue was performed.Five cases received MRI enhanced scan and two cases had Ctenhanced scan.Results One case occurred in the upper limb and lower limb occurred in five cases,five cases had distinct boundary.Among the five cases that received MRI examination,as compared with muscle,masses had isointensitiy signal on T1WI,and inhomogeneous hyperintensity signal on T2WI and homogeneous hyperintensity signal on fat-suppression T2WI;three cases showed inhomogeneous enhancement in lesions and two lesions were more uniform enhancement after injection of Gd-DTPA;four cases showed obvious envelope without peritumour edema,two patients showed iso-hypointensity signal in the CT examination compared with the muscle,1 showed osteolytic destruction of bone adjacent to tumor and scattered irregular calcification.Mild and marked enhancement were seen in one case respectively.Conclusion Rhabdomyosarcoma has no imaging features in extremities soft tissue,when enhanced soft tissue mass apparent was found during inspections,rhabdomyosarcoma should be included in the differential diagnosis,the final diagnosis relies on pathology examination.
