Abstract: The effects of different mulching materials on soil temperature and vegetative growth of carrot were investigated.The field experiment showed that mulching transparent film and black film could significantly improve soil temperature,the daily mean soil temperature could increase 4.34℃ and 3.33℃ compared with CK in vegetative period.Mulching transparent film and black film also influenced growth of carrot,after 110d of seeded,fresh weight of single root of carrot was increased by 39.97% and 12.64% compared with CK.Meanwhile,the vegetative period could be shortened by 32 days and 19days compared with CK.
