Abstract: Telomerase activity plays an important role in the human lens epithelial cells,proliferation,senescent and the occurrence and progress of cataract. At present,the causality between telomerase activity in lens epithelial cells of cataract and cell’s DNA damage,apoptosis,proliferation become the focus of debate. This article reviews the mechanisms of the expression and regulating of telomerase activity and its clinical application in lens epithelial cells.
