Abstract: Objective To investigate the association of basic fibroblast growth factor（bFGF）and Thrombospondin-1（TSP-1）with the oncogenesis of malignant tumors in nasal cavity and paranasal. Methods The expressions of bFGF and TSP-1proteins were detected by immunohistochemical staining in 54cases of malignant tumors in nasal cavity and paranasal sinus,43 cases of benign tumors,and 30cases of nasal polyps. Results The differences of the expressions of bFGF and TSP-1among malignant tumors,benign tumors and polyps in nasal and paranasal were statistically significant（χ2=5.06-32.43,P＜0.05）. Conclusion bFGF is likely to promote the development of nasal and paranasal malignant tumors,and TSP-1is probably to inhibit the occurrence of the malignancies.
