Abstract: The compression strength of extruded particleboards reinforced by top, middle and bottom part of Hennon bamboo was studied. Minitab 16. 0 was used to analyze the compression strength of three groups of composites. The results showed that with the influence of taper and the different strength of the bamboo, the composite reinforced by the top part of bamboo had the lowest compression strength with the largest standard deviation. Its compression strength values followed the Weibull distribution. The composite reinforced by the bottom part of bamboo exhibited the highest compression strength with small standard deviation. The compression strength of composites reinforced by either bottom or middle part of bamboo follows the normal distribution. The cumulative distribution curves also showed that the composite reinforced by the bottom part of bamboo has the best mechanical performance.
