Staying Human in the Organization: Our Biological Heritage and the Workplace Bernhard, J. Gary and Glantz, Kalman |
Bernhard and Glantz examine the organizational workplace with its hierarchies of authority and find it at distinct odds with the workers' sociobiological "human" heritage. They attribute much of the disconnection, anxiety, powerlessness, anger, and other negatives found in workplaces to a basic conflict between workers' evolutionary based needs and organizations' dominating and stifling environments. The book offers insightful analyses of workplace situations and details what approaches and circumstances are consistent with human status regardless of organizational role.
