Abstract: The characteristic of mycelial growth and enzyme production of Hypsizygus marmoreus under different nutritional conditions were determined and analyzed. The growth rate was the highest under the conditions of low nitrogen and carbon and low inorganic salt medium, but the mycelia grew sparsely and the colony margin was irregular, producing enzymes including laccase, manganese peroxidase, lignin peroxidase, xylanase and celluase with low activities. It was suggested the medium types did not affect mycelial growth rate obviously, but nutritional deficiency affected on mycelial morphology and enzyme activities significantly. Lignin peroxidase was produced at first in low nitrogen medium, and its generation was stimulated in the limitation of nitrogen. Laccase and manganese peroxidase were produced at the earliest in highinorganic salts medium, but the mycelial growth rate and the enzyme activities were low. High concentration of inorganic salt affected the mycelial growth. The results indicated that mycelial growth characters and the enzyme production of Hypsizygus marmoreus were affected greatly by different nutritional conditions. The result also showed the nutritional condition adjustment could be an important practical measure to promote efficiency in substrate utilization and shorten the production cycle, and reduce the production cost during the process of cultivation of Hypsizygus marmoreus.
