Abstract: The chemical compositions and pharmacological activities of Chroogomphus rutilus were comprehensively discussed in this paper. According to the literature,the fruiting body of Chroogomphus rutilus contains all kinds of chemical compositions including polysaccharides,fatty acids,lactones, coumarins, phenols, steroids, hydroxy-anthraquinones, terpenes etc., and recent research advances in pharmacological activities were summarized,including anti-tumor,neuronal protection,anti-oxidation,anti-bacteria,anti-motion sickness,promoting growth and other functions.The paper aims to provide the basis for the development and utilization of Chroogomphus rutilus.
