Abstract: Microstructure evolution of Q235A carbon-304 stainless clad steel plate under different deformation conditions in hot rolling process was researched by SEM. The results show that the quantity of pearlite in the steel increases with increasing reduction rate, and the distribution of pearlite becomes more uniform. The quantity of pro-eutectoid ferrite firstly increases with increasing reduction rate because of internal stress promoting eutectoid reaction, and then decreases, for diffusion of carbon atom from the deformation grain to the ferrite. The tensile strength increases with the grain refinement and the uniformity of carbides in the steel.
