Abstract: In order to achieve the sludge reduction and resource utilization,it was introduced several new methods of sludge treatment and disposal which mainly presented through the source control and pretreatment. Combined with the characteristics of sludge and soil in the Northwest loess area,it was discussed the feasibility of sludge utilization in agriculture and forestry in the Northwest loess area,so as to improve the characteristics of the barren field in the Northwest loess region.
