Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the feasibility that electrodes comprising a stainless steel net coated with single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs @ SSN) were used as both the anode and cathode to remove heavy metal from aqueous solutions. The results showed that Cr2O2-7,Ni2 +,Pb2 +,Cu2 +and Cd2 +could be removed synchronously by the SWCNTs@ SSN. Removal mechanisms of the heavy metal ions on the electrode were different under the condition of different solution pH. The method can be regarded as a potential technique for the treatment of industrial wastewater containing mixture and low concentration heavy-metal ions.
