Finite Element Analysis on Ultra Large Drum of Belt ConveyorChinese Full Text

Abstract: In order to verify the rationality of the ultra large drum design for the belt conveyor,the finite element software ANSYS was applied to analyze the stress and strain variation law of the ultra large drum.Based on the Pro/Engineer operation platform,a 3D physical model of the ultra large drum with a diameter over 1 600 mm was established.The finite element model established with the ANSYS software was applied to analyze the stress and strain variation law.The study results showed that the max stress of the conveyor drum was occurred at the central part of the drum shell and the welded locations caused by the bending of the drum shell.The inner ring of the spoke hub was highly stressed.The structural size of the drum was optimized in order to relatively reduce the weight of the drum or the increasing of the reinforced bars could reduce the deformation of the drum.
