Abstract: Samples from the polluted black soil profiles in Northeast China were collected to investigate the distribution characteristics of total contents, available contents and organically-bound contents of cadmium(Cd),lead(Pb),copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) at different depths,as well as their relation to soil organic matter. The impact of soil organic matter on organically-bound heavy metals was also analyzed. It is shown that, among the four heavy metals, the amount of Pb in organic form analyzed was greatest and that of Zn was the lowest.Under the influence of human activities, there was no obvious correlation between soil organic matter content and organically-bound contents of four elements.Due to different capacity of dissociation groups in the soils, there was no obvious distribution characteristic of organically-bound heavy metals in the sampling area.
