Abstract: To solve a large number of heterogeneous manufacturing services description problems on the Internet,and realize quick searching and matching of Machining Services（MS） under the networked environment,an approach of 2-tire-3-tuple modularity MS description modelling was proposed,and the semantic network of MS description was established which was consisted of the core ontology and the extendable ontology.Aiming at realizing manufacturing service classification and its semantic similarity matching reasoning,the relationships and constraints axioms among manufacturing process knowledge built-in MS was represented with Description Logic（DL）,and the MS ontology model based on DL was described normally using OWL DL.A user-oriented MS description generation model and application framework were put forward.An application prototype with the standardized description modelling and automatic searching and matching of MS was developed to support the construction of public MS platforms.
