Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine regards the diabetes of western medicine as the ancient Xiaoke disease,and the mechanism of diabetes is thought to be the deficiency of yin and body fluid due to heat and dryness,but the clinical symptoms of yang deficiency in diabetic patients are not unusual.This article elaborates the pragmatic value of yang-warming therapy clinically on theoretical origins,pathogeny and mechanism,ancient and modern treatments of diabetes mellitus.
