Abstract: Objective :To develop the TCM syndrome scale of rheumatoid arthritis,applying statistic methods to select and optimize the items. Methods :A cross-section survey was conducted,and 201rheumatoid arthritis（RA）in-patients were enrolled for investigation on TCM syndrome scale. The items were selected and through the frequencies analysis,factor analysis,stepwise regression analysis and Cronbach Alpha coefficient method,the result was analyzed. Results :35 items were selected in the end and constituted the preliminary scale of rheumatoid arthritis. Conclusion :By the various statistical methods,the better items are selected and mastering the scale of preserving items can acquire good reliability and validity of scale.
