Abstract: Objective:To establish a method for quality control of Radix Berberis.Methods:Microscopical identification method is used to analyze the microscopical characteristics of Radix Berberis powers;Palmatine hydrochloride and Berberine hydrochloride are qualitatively analyzed by TLC and are quantitatively measured by HPLC.Results:Microscopical identification method of Radix Berberis has been established;the identification and determination method of the two alkaloids with TLC and HPLC have been established.Conclusion:The three methods mentioned above are all simple,accurate and are applicable for the quality control of Palmatine hydrochloride.
