Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the content and antioxidant activity of the total phenolic from Chirita longgangensis var.hongyao.Methods:Different polarity solvent and extraction methods were attempted for the extraction of the total phenolic from Chirita longgangensis var.hongyao in this investigation.Folin-Ciocaileu method was developed for evaluation of the total phenolic content of extracts. The antioxidative activity of total phenolic was determined by the capacity of scavenging 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical, and the evaluated unit was expressed as the equivalent concentration of ascorbic acid. Results:The content of total phenolic and antioxidant activities of n-butanol extraction and soaking methods was the highest, respectively;the efficiency increased with the content of total phenolic extracted from plants. Conclusion:The extracts owned obvious antiradical capacity.
