Abstract: Although many patients with acute myocardial infarction can be saved by treatment of thrombolysis, percutaneous coronary intervention and conventional drugs, these approaches cannot restore the number of myocardial cells.Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BM-MSCS) with their multidirectional differentiation potentials can be induced to differentiate into cardiomyocyte-like cells, improve circulation in the infarct area and prevent myocardium from remodeling. The manner, timing and clinic application of BM-MSCS transplantation for myocardial infarction are reviewed.
