Relationship between type-A behavior factors and coronary heart diseaseChinese Full Text

Abstract: AIM To find out some type-A behavior factors related with the coronary heart disease （CHD）,so that behavior of this kind can be rectified. METHODS A type-A behavior questionnaire was set up by using the PSACIV meter. Two hundred and nine patients with CHD and 218 healthy subjects were randomly chosen to answer the questionnaire and analysis of type-A behavior factors related with CHD was conducted. RESULTS As a whole,the type-A behavior pattern was related with CHD（P＜0.05）. Among the six factors,significantly difference between the two groups was found only in the factor "Time Efficiency" （P＜0.05）. The results of male subgroups of both CHD and control groups were consistent with those of the whole. In the female groups,no significant difference between CHD and control groups was found in the mean score of type-A behavior total score and that of various behaviors factors. In different age subgroups,the results of the 6 factors were different between the CHD group and control group. In the subgroup aged 30~39,the factor "Irascibility" was significantly different （P＜0.05）,in the group aged 40~49,the factor "Time Efficiency" was significantly different （P＜0.05）,and in the group aged 50~59,the factors of "Time Efficiency and Time Urgency" was significantly different（P＜0.05）. But in the group aged above 60,the factor "Time Urgency" was significantly different（P＜0.05）. CONCLUSION Patients with CHD have some individual characteristics,including stronger sense of time efficiency and time urgency,and irascibility. The correlation between type-A behavior factor and CHD varies with age and sex.
