Abstract: AIM: To observe the change of angiotensin Ⅱ (AngⅡ) in hypothalamus of rats exposed to infrasound. METHODS:The rats were exposed to infrasounds (frequence:16 Hz; acotustic pressure:130 dB and 90 dB), for 1,7,14,and 21 d,2 h daily, then AngⅡ contents were measured 0.5,6,12,18,and 24 h after the exposure. RESULTS: AngⅡ varied regularly, increasing firstly, then decreasing, and increasing again, after rats exposed to infrasound either with 130 dB for 1,14 and 21 d or with 90 dB for 7 and 21 d. In rats exposed to infrasound with 130 dB for 7 d AngⅡ increased continuously. After the exposure to infrasound with 90 dB for 1 and 14 d, AngⅡ of rats presented on the peak curve, and 12 h after the group were exposed to infrasound for 14 d, no signficant difference was detected between the exposure and the control groups. CONCLUSION: The content of AngⅡ in the hypothalamus of rats affected by the infrasounds with different sound intensities and by different numbers of exposures was fluctuated.
