Abstract: In order to evaluate the effects of epidemic hemorrhagic fever(EHF) on the function of atrial-ventricular node(AVN), we measured AVN electrophysiological parameters in 70patients with EHF by the method of transesophageal atrial pacing, and compared the action between pathogenic stage and restoration stage, and between mild and severe cases at early pathogenic and late pathogenic stages. It was found that AVN function was significantly impaired at pathogenic stage, especially at early pathogenic stage in severe cases. The impairment of AVN function caused by EHF may bc the direct reason of certain arrhythmia in EHF patients, Therefore, this method is regarded as safe and reliable in diagnosing cardiac impairment in EHF patients.
