ABSTRACT

Computer vision (CV) is an interdisciplinary field of computer science investigating how computers may extract high-level information from digital pictures and videos. This chapter investigates how CV combats problems brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic by introducing new strategies and boosting the performance of existing techniques. Numerous deep learning techniques are used including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), generative adversarial networks (GANs), multilayer perceptrons (MLPs), and deep belief networks (DBNs). It is encouraging that the community working on CV research was called upon to provide assistance in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
