ABSTRACT

Surface water and groundwater levels are steadily declining; therefore, the usage of available or recycled water in agriculture should be efficient and sustainable. It should also be noted that agricultural income is considered as a key factor in controlling a country’s economy and growth. Sensor technologies would unquestionably support farmers in making irrigation decisions to promote agricultural development as well as increase crop production. By implementing cutting-edge agricultural technology in irrigation, the crop’s total production cost may be lowered, and time can be saved by removing human involvement. It is expected to be expanded up in the near future by integrating wireless sensor networks within agricultural regions. As a result, the current chapter aims to provide information on the most recent technologies used in agricultural systems, specifically the various types of irrigation techniques, the driving forces behind the search for innovative irrigation techniques, and the artificial intelligence sensors that are commonly used for water preservation and conservation. Furthermore, agriculture water management through multi-Intelligent control system is highlighted.
