ABSTRACT

With significant advancements in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML) started to flourish as a subset in the early 1950s. Adding to the appeal of AI, ML penetrated every walk of life, including agriculture. AI-enabled drones became more intelligent made decisions with the incorporation of ML algorithms. ML provided a platform in fusing data from multiple sources like satellite imagery to agbots or robots in order to apply predictive or decisive techniques in order to generate more accurate and timely decisions or analyses. This chapter will discuss the use and impact of machine learning in the development of these intelligent farming solutions along with different types of ML methods that are commonly used in the domain of agriculture.
