ABSTRACT

Nonlinear mechanical behavior of carbon/epoxy unidirectional and angle-ply laminates under uniaxial tensile loading is investigated experimentally. The one-parameter plasticity model is used to characterize the nonlinear behavior of the unidirectional laminates. The mechanical behavior of the angle-ply laminates is predicted by using the combination of the classical lamination theory and the one-parameter plasticity model of the unidirectional laminates.
