ABSTRACT

This chapter is based on the implementation of machine learning (ML) methods in biomedical science. It is also termed as bioinformatics as there are dealings with huge chunks of data in the biomedical field. Since there is a drastic increase in data of biomedical science analysis and predictions using ML is quite beneficial. In biomedical research predictions of diseases, classification of the type of disease, and insights based on data provided can help humanity and society a lot. In this chapter, it has been studied classification techniques with background and functioning of supervised ML models such as decision tree (DT), support vector machines (SVMs), and K-nearest neighbor and their implementation on breast cancer dataset. ML methods create a healthcare chatbot system that can provide a possible prediction of disease based on symptoms asked by a chatbot.
