ABSTRACT
The image processing program Split has been developed to compute size distributions of rock fragments from digital images. The program can operate on-line, processing images directly from conveyor belts or from saved images. This paper provides an overview of the program, describes current and potential applications, and discusses some results obtained from the use of the program.
