Most of current researchers focus on a single memristor chaotic system, however, the research of two chaotic systems with memristors is often neglected. Therefore, the hybrid memristor chaotic system is designed by two simplest memristor chaotic systems in this paper. The novel dynamics behaviors of the hybrid memristor chaotic system are investigated by using Matlab analysis techniques including phase portraits, bifurcation diagrams, and Lyapunov exponents. Numerical simulation results are given to show that the hybrid memristor chaotic system can produce different chaotic behaviors over a range of control parameters. Specially, the unusual transition behavior of long term steady chaos with period doubling dynamical behaviors has been gained, which is completely different from the phenomenon of steady chaos. Finally, the corresponding hardware circuit has been designed in Multisim, and the experimental results are in good agreement with the results of Matlab simulation.
