Incidence of and risk factors for pancreatic cancer in chronic pancreatitis: A cohort of 1656 patients
2017, Digestive and Liver DiseaseCitation Excerpt :The exclusion criteria were as follows: groove pancreatitis (GP) and autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) [23]. In the present study, cases of pancreatic cancer diagnosed within 2 years after the diagnosis of CP [16,24] and patients with a follow-up period of less than 2 years (CP diagnosed after December 2011) were excluded. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Changhai Hospital.
Pancreatic cancer in patients with chronic calcifying pancreatitis: Computed tomography findings – a retrospective analysis of 48 patients
2017, European Journal of RadiologyCitation Excerpt :The two main exogenous risk factors are smoking [10,11] and chronic calcifying pancreatitis (CCP) [9]. PC is approximately 7.2 times more frequent in patients with CCP, with a risk of occurrence of approximately 1% to 2% per year [12–14]. Recent epidemiological studies have reported an increasing incidence of chronic pancreatitis [15]; in European countries, its incidence ranges from 4 cases per 100,000 in the UK to 13.4 cases per 100,000 in Finland [16,17].
