Abstract
Sorry, there is no abstract available. Read the first few lines of the text instead! During a 14-month study (April 1995 to May 1996) on the behaviour of lar gibbons (Hylobates lar) in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, binturongs (Arctictis binturong; Viverridae) were sighted 14 times in the vicinity of gibbons. Gibbons and binturongs have a similar geographical range in the dense forests in southern Asia [1], and both are arboreal and predominantly frugivorous [2-4]. Gibbons defend territories against conspecifics and maintain exclusive access to the fruit trees within them. The behaviour and ecology of binturongs are poorly known.
