Abstract

This paper introduces five methods for evaluating economic values of forest recreation : Zone Travel Cost Method, Individual Travel Cost Method, Random Utility Model of Recreation Demand, Contingent Valuation Method and Choice Experiment. The author discusses future challenges for applying those methods appropriately, especially in Japan.
