ABC transporters: ATP binding cassette transporters
ACP: acyl carrier protein
CoA: coenzyme A
Cutin: a fatty acid–based polyester that forms the structural skeleton of the cuticle
eceriferum (cer): Arabidopsis and barley mutants with altered cuticular wax amounts and/or composition (literally, “not carrying wax”)
ECR: enoyl CoA reductase
Exosome: multiprotein complex with RNase activity implicated in control of mRNA levels in eukaryotes
FAEs: fatty acid elongases
